Information About Dogs; When There Bite Is Worse Than Their Bark
By Armand Diaz

It can be difficult to find information about dogs and your rights when you have been bitten. Many people consider their animals to be more than a pet; they see them as part of their family. This is why it can be hard for people to believe that their family member just bit someone. The laws surrounding dogs can be hazy sometimes, and if you have been bitten it can be annoying to find out what your rights are. Below you will find more information about dog attacks to help you prevent it from happening to you.

In most states, it is the law that you must have your puppy on a leash whenever you have them outside of the home. However, in many rural areas, people do not worry about this since there is no one around for miles. In places such as this you do have to worry about walking past someone's home if they own a dog because many people get attacked by animals while they are walking. There are a lot of states that are strict about their laws and if someone is bitten the owner is liable. This would not be the case if that person was tress passing or breaking into their home.

As unfortunate as is it may be, there are no dogs on earth that are incapable of biting someone. There have been numerous cases of dog attacks in which people were shocked that the animal did that. Your canine could be the friendliest pet that anyone has ever known, and they could still snap one day for no reason. This is why you should never trust a dog because the owner claims they do not bite. Under no circumstances should you approach them if you are unfamiliar with the animal. Especially if you are in their home, and they do not know you because it is their basic instinct to protect their environment.

You may not hear about them in the news very often, but canine attacks are more common then one might think. Every year in the United States alone there are almost five million dogs bites that are reported. Think about all the ones that are not documented because the owner and the individual have come to another agreement. Fortunately, out of the five million attacks reported last year only thirty four of them resulted in death. That does not mean that the others did not suffer emotionally and physically from their assaults.

There is a lot more information about dogs and the results that their attacks can have on a person available on the internet. It is a sad event when this occurs and even worse when it involves a child. There are ways that you can protect yourself against this epidemic. However, as stated before, many of the cases involve people being bitten by their own dog whom they never would have thought would do that. The best way to protect yourself is to always be on guard when you are around any animal that has the potential to hurt you.
