BOOK CONDITION Book conditions are described as follow: Very Fine (of As New Condition) -- A book that is in perfect condition and has no sign whatsoever that it has been read. Fine -- Very similar to Very Fine, but allowing a small bump or two. If the book was read, it was don very carefully. The dust jacket may not be as shiny as new, but has no wrinkles, folds, chips or tears. Near Fine -- Fine with a little more wear and some very minor flaws. Very Good -- A Downgrade of Fine to Very Good could be caused by clipping, small tears or rips, rubbing, and a less than tight binding. There may be an Inscription of the Front Flyleaf. To qualify for Very Good however, it must be completely intact, with Dust jacket (if issued). Good -- You are now basically in a territory that is avoided by serious collectors unless there are little or no other copies available. There are some authors that are had to find in anything by a Good copy. This copy may have large chips and tears, price clipping, inscriptions, loose binding etc. Poor -- A reading copy, not fit for collecting unless extremely rare.
