Very Important:
You should create a separate folder on your
hard disk before copying these files. See below <><><><> if
you do not know how to create a new folder.
After you create the folder, copy all of the files in the root
folder AND the images folder of this disk into that new folder.
If you do not know how to highlight and copy files, this is
also explained in the section outlined in <><><><> below.
YOU WILL NEED A TEXT EDITOR - WE USED WORDPAD TO DESIGN ALL
THESE PAGES - WORDPAD IS A PROGRAM AVAILABLE ON ALL WINDOWS
OPERATING SYSTEM MACHINES. YOU WILL ALSO NEED A FILE TRANSFER
PROGRAM (SUCH AS WSFTP OR CUTEFTP) TO UPLOAD THE FILES TO YOUR
DOMAIN.
It is highly recommended that you take the extra steps and
minor expense of registering a domain name - if you are serious
about making money on the internet.
If you do not have a domain name and wish assistance in
registering, contact customerservice@qualitybooks.com. We can
recommend reasonably priced hosting services.

How To Create A New Folder.
If you do not know how to create a new folder, follow these
directions:
Right-click on Start. Choose Explore. Scroll up in the
left pane until you see (C:). Click (once) on (C:). Now choose
File, New, Folder. A line will display on the right pane that
says NewFolder. Type in the name you wish to give your web site
folder. You can give this folder any name you wish. I suggest
you keep the name 8 letters or less. I also recommend using a
name early in the alphabet. I have folders on my computer called
Al, Alweb, Alstore. This makes it easier to locate the web-related
folders.
Once you have named the folder, lets say Allweb, press Enter and
the new folder name will be displayed.
Due to limitations of placing a maximum number of files in the
root directory on one folder, we created three sub-folders
to keep the files: HTML, IMAGES and readme. All HTML files are
in the folder called HTML and all image files are
in a folder called IMAGES.
How To Download The Files Online
To Download the files you will to follow four steps:
1. Click on the link to download the resell package file that should be on your "Thank-You-Page" you received by email immediately after ordering.
2. Save the zip file (book-website.zip) to a folder on your computer. Take note of the folder it is saved to. Allow about 1-3 minutes for the download (depending on your internet connection).
3. Unzip the folder and extract the files. You can use a copy of WINZIP to unzip the file after it's downloaded to your computer. Get a free copy of Winzip here: http://www.winzip.com
4. Go to the folder and double-click on the unzipped folder to see its content.
You should make a copy of the downloaded folder to ensure that the original files
are not corrupted during editing. DO NOT edit the files while
they are on the original downloaded folder. If you rename any of the files on this folder,
links to them may not work. Always save new files using all
lower-case letters. This is
explained in the section outlined in <><><><> above.
How To Copy The Files From The Downloded Folder To The New Folder On Your Hard Drive
If Windows Explorer is not in the task bar at the
bottom of your screen, right-click on Start, choose Explore and
find website folder you just downloaded and unziped on your hard drive (book-website), by clicking one time. Click one time
on the first file name displayed - this will be HTML, before
IMAGES.
Click that folder once and the HTML file names will
appear in the right pane. HOLD the SHIFT KEY down and click
once (in the right pane) on this the first file name 20smoke.htm.
With that file name highlighted, scroll to the last file name
younger.htm. All of the files in this folder should be
highlighted (all blue). If not all blue, you must repeat the
above until they are all blue.
Now find the new folder you just named on your hard drive (in
the left pane of the Windows Explorer). For example, ours
would be Allweb. Now drag the cursor to the left pane until the
new folder (Allweb) turns blue and stays blue; then release the
mouse button.
The files will copy from the website folder to the hard drive. When that
process is completed, look at left pane and find the line that
says website again and click once. Now you'll see a
folder called IMAGES, after HTML. Click that folder once and the
image file names will appear in the right pane. Again, highlight
the first file name 100-pdf-templates.gif. Scroll to the last file name
wwfh_order1.gif. Now again drag the cursor to the left pane
until the new folder Allweb turns blue and stays blue; then
release the mouse button. (The same process we did with the
files on HTML)
If any file was left behind, HOLD the shift key again and click
once on this only file name. Again, the file name should be blue.
Left click on any one of the files names and drag it to your new
folder (Allweb) - DO NOT release the mouse until the new folder
turns blue and remains blue. Then release the mouse button and
this image file will be copied onto your hard disk.
VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT place your image files in a
separate folder on your hard drive or on your web site. All
of these pages are prepared to point to the image in the same
folder, in this case Allweb.
VERY IMPORTANT: All of these pages were designed using WordPad,
available on any computer with a Windows operating system. DO NOT
attempt to edit these pages with a program such as Front Page or
any other editing program unless you are sure of what you are
doing.
WEB PAGES EDITING
Only six of these web pages will need some editing before
you can upload them to your web site. Please be sure to read
this entire page before uploading these pages.
The "home" page on this allweb folder is currently titled index.html
This is the standard name used for all home pages on the Internet.
This page maybe offering products that we are not currently
available anymore, please check and make changes as necessary.
NOTICE: If your already have a website with files at your server,
we recommend you rename the file index.html BEFORE uploading to
your server. If you do not rename this file before uploading,
it will overwrite your existing home page file. Be sure to
rename index.html before uploading if you wish to save the
information. If it is the first time your are uploading
information at your server you don't need to make any changes.
We cannot be held responsible for any files you overwrite on
your web site.
The contact.htm page contains your company contact information
and MUST be edited with your company information before or after
uploading to your server.
The privacy.htm, about.htm and policies.htm page also MUST be
edited with your company information before or after uploading to your server.
The orderform.htm page MUST be edited with your company
information before or after uploading to your server.
The remaining files were designed so they don't require extra
editing except your bookstore's name at the beginning/ending of each page
and your credit card ordering information (YourOrderLink.htm).
DO NOT try to edit any of the image files, and unless you are
qualified at editing the various pages, you should leave them
as they are.
Except for the minor revisions which apply to inserting your
company name, your e-mail address, and information regarding
your method of accepting orders and payment, we have designed
these pages with the novice webmaster in mind. Pages were
optimized for viewing with Explorer's browser and may appear
different when using Internet Netscape or other browsers.
Except for the "home" page (officially known as INDEX.HTML),
which has an extension .html, all web pages in this set have an
extension .htm this identifies them as web pages to the search
engines and browsers. Graphics included here end with extensions
.gif and .jpg. All graphic images are property of QualityBooks
and may not be sold or used on other web pages which do not
pertain to QualityBooks products. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO EDIT THE
IMAGES.
To make uploading extremely simple, all web page files and all
graphic files in this folder should be uploaded to the same directory
on your web site (after editing). If you wish to have your
graphics in a separate folder at your web site, you will need to
edit each page containing graphic images to include the name of
the folder prior to the image name for that web page image(s).
We have not included directions for uploading the files as there
are numerous FTP methods and therefore it would be impossible for
us to provide directions for each method.
When editing these pages, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you work with
a word processor or text editor (such as WORDPAD -- recommended)
which will save them as ASCII text when you save the edited file.
The entries that will require editing are highlighted in the HTML
file as described in the next few paragraphs. You will only need
to edit the HTM files on this folder (and not the .gif or .jpg files).
WE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY EDITING DONE WITH FRONT PAGE
OR ANY OTHER WEB PAGE EDITING PROGRAM. Be sure to save a copy of
these files separate from those you're editing.
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS TO EDIT THE FILES WITH WORDPAD.
LAUNCH WORDPAD - Select File, Open... in the Files of Type box,
change this to Text Documents (.txt). In the File Name box, type
*.htm. This will display all documents ending with .htm (and
.html). Highlight the first document to be edited and click Open.
After you open the file (in WordPad -- recommended), "hints" on
information to edit begin and end with these symbols: <! -- and -- !>.
They will not appear on the browser screen. The entries that will
need to be edited will always be immediately below these initial
hints, so you will be able to open a page in your text editor and
perform a search for <!-- to locate the hint coding. (If using
WordPad, once you open the document, press Ctrl + "F". This will
open the Search dialog box. Type "<!--" -without quote marks-
and WordPad will search for and locate the hints.) BE SURE TO
PROOF READ THE PAGES AFTER YOU EDIT THEM. LOOK FOR OBVIOUS PLACES
THAT MAY SAY "YOUR COMPANY," AND OTHER SIMILAR ENTRIES. THESE MUST
BE CHANGED BEFORE UPLOADING.
We have prepared these web pages with the assumption that you will
accept credit cards or e-mail orders. All pages except those which
will contain personalized company information, have a hyperlink to
a credit card or mail order order form. If you will be accepting
e-mail or credit card orders, you will need to revise each page to
link to that option.
Insert the information which applies to you, your company or your
situation and save the file. REMEMBER to save it as a text file -
BUT with the extension .HTM as you are receiving them and NOT with
.TXT extension.
