Does God Really Work Miracles By Healing The Sick Anymore?
You bet He does! Just like in the Old Testament times and in Jesus’ time, He works mighty miracles even today. But what is it that tugs God’s heart and causes Him to listen to one’s prayer? Faith. Pure and simple faith. The certainty, the child-like belief, that God can and will heal the sick.
God will listen to us if we have profound faith in Him like the centurion in Matthew 8 who beseeched Christ to heal his sick servant by saying, “But speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.” That’s the kind of faith that will cause Him to say: “Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no.” (Matt. 8:10)
If we have unwavering faith in Christ Jesus like the apostle Peter, who simply ordered the lame man to get up and walk in Acts 3, and then later gave the glory to God by telling the amazed crowd that it was God who healed the lame man, God will hear our prayers.
If we’re like the friends of the palsied man in Mark chapter two who impressed Jesus so much with their simple faith that He healed their friend immediately, God will heed our request.
If we’re like Zack Dunlap’s grandmother who prayed in faith for her grandson even though the doctors said that he was brain dead and there was no hope of recovery, the Lord will have compassion. * “During her time with him, Zack’s grandmother, Naomi, prayed. Her request was straightforward — “just a miracle,” she told Morales.” Though Zach wasn’t healed instantly like the Centurion’s servant or the lame man in Acts 3, he is definitely on the road to recovery. In Matthew 21 Jesus said: “Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.”
If we have unshakable faith, the Lord will heal as many sick, blind, deaf and lame today as He did in the Old and New Testament times.
